
Arts for Education and Psychosocial support with Refugee children and youth.
The UBUMWE: Arts for education and public health with refugee children and youth is a pilot program implemented in kyangwali Refugee settlement in western Uganda by the Mailman school of Public Health and Teachers college at Columbia university in partnership with Building African community opportunities (BACO) Foundation, Hopelink Action foundation HAF Uganda, Africhild center at Makerere University and two New Exploring York city-based organization, Artolution and Arts Ignite.
The project aims to bolster psychosocial and educational outcomes among children and youth through the integration of arts in education and community spaces.
We thank all the partners of this project up on introducing it at Rukundo Integrity Primary school. This project has changed the teachers and learners understanding of different forms of visual art and it has improved our experiences
